Urban open spaces, parks and gardens are the domain of Swiss landscape architects Rotzlor Krebs Partner. This lavishly illustrated volume contains a representative selection of their internationally acclaimed projects, including the temporary installations Tanzende Ellipsen (Dancing Ellipses) on the grounds of Zurich-Kloten Airport, Augenweide (Feast for the Eyes) as part of the Federal Horticulture Show 2001 in Potsdam, and Lettenareal near Zurich. The projects are grouped according to key themes – for example, Staging Vision; Enclaves and Reserves; Urban Territories – and are presented in detail with numerous color illustrations, blueprints and brief descriptions. The introduction by Christophe Girot and essays by Hubertus Adam look at the firm’s work in the context of contemporary landscape architecture, and the photographs by renowned artist Annelies Strba enrich the book with her distinctive sense of rhythm and space.
