Even among Mexico’s brilliant contemporary architects, Bernardo Gómez-Pimienta stands out. This comprehensive volume, overflowing with brilliant photography, showcases more than a decade of work of his firm, BGP Arquitectura. With an impressive list of international awards (including the first Mies van der Rohe award for Latin America and being named honorary fellow of the American Institute of Architects), Gomez-Pimienta’s work combines the clean lines and spatial sense of modernism with a particular sensitivity to integrating landmark designs, like the new Televisa Chapultepec, into dense urban textures like Mexico City. His design for Hotel Habita (in Mexico City’s super-upscale Polanco district) turned a tired older building into the Latin American Building of the Year.
