The quadrennial contest for Swedish architecture in wood is one of the greatest honors for that nation’s architects; the latest competition drew more than 200 entries. This profusely illustrated book, shot by photographer Åke E:son Lindman, features the eleven top nominees. Projects include a cowshed, a riding school, an apartment block, a single-family housing development, an exhibition gallery, a school, three detached houses and two weekend cottages – buildings differing in size, type and use, of course, but all are stunning designs, and all use wood in an innovative and inspiring way. Includes descriptions, schematics and drawings by the architects themselves.
