ISAAC BROID
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry, UNAM
This slender volume documents the development-from colored-pencil sketch to walk-through tour-of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnology in Querétaro, Mexico, by Isaac Broid, winner of the gold medal of the Biennial of Mexican Architecture in 2008. With this project Broid adds yet another exceptional piece to an already remarkable résumé, demonstrating his ability to solve complex programs with a particular sensitivity toward the tectonic and contextual aspects of architecture. The elegance of this small-format book reveals the richness of the formal and conceptual solutions of one of the most established architects of a generation. The photographs and drawings are interspersed with quotations in Spanish and English from contemporaries, bringing extra dimension to the presentation.
