One of North America’s most exciting young firms, winner of the Architectural League of New York’s young architects prize, PRODUCTORA was founded in 2006 in Mexico City and brings together architects Abel Perles, Carlos Bedoya Ikeda, Victor Jaime and Wonne Ickx. This extensively illustrated book is the first – but certainly not the last – to feature the firm’s work, both completed and proposed. Recent and current projects include the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lima, Peru; a memorial proposal in Oslo for the victims of the 2005 tsunami; the C.S.I. Corporate Headquarters in Mexico City; and the residences Casa Musso in Oaxaca, Casa Granados in Chihuahua, and Casa Mixcoac in Mexico City.

Rising-star Zurich architecture studio SAM is noted for its attention to the textural fabric of urban areas, and its amazing ability to weave new parts into the fabric with subtlety and skill. These two oversized soft-cover volumes (presented together in a plastic sleeve) look in detail at several of this young firm’s recent projects, such as a lakeside residential complex in a former silk-weaving mill, a mixed-use high-rise in an industrial area next to the railway tracks, and a community hall for a wineproducing village. The stunning presentation includes color photos of completed buildings, sites, surroundings and architectural models; blueprints, schematics, section drawings and details; and project timelines, many with photos. Excellent text by the architects in English and German.
