Ena Swansea and Robert Lucander at the Falckenberg Collection
Dirk Luckow (Ed.)
American painter Ena Swansea and Berlin-based Finnish painter Robert Lucander have never met but were paired in this exhibition catalog due to their shared interest in plumbing the depths of human emotions. Though different in expression, the two artists’ content lies between dream and waking, life and death. As the paintings of human psychosis bring the unexpected to consciousness, the catalog’s title Psycho recalls the Hitchcock film, in which it is impossible to penetrate the tension or to distinguish between victim and culprit. Essays by Harald Falckenberg, Belinda Grace Gardner and Miriam Schoofs.
