OTRA DE VAQUEROS
Documenting a residency and exhibition project that took place in Mexico City in 2007, this book shows how a group of artists in Mexico and from abroad examined how contemporary issues set the context in which art happens. With stories, statements, tales, questionnaires, jokes, instructions, letters and notes that were written by the 16 participant artists, the reader comes to see and understand how the cultural, political, and social debris of the modern Western world can be used to engage in and create artwork. We can remodel our entire notion of culture and its contemporary avatars.
