A Donation of Swedish Art Glassware to Iceland

Glass design is alive and well in Sweden. A selection of over 50 of the best glass artists from all over Sweden donated works from 1998-2004, with the goal of raising the profile of Swedish glass artists. With essays, informational articles about freeblown art studio glass and glass manufacture, and copious photographs, this volume documents the 60 sensuous, sculptural, lustrous works in the donation to the new Icelandic Design Museum. Everything from organic, almost ceramic-looking pieces to delicate, crystalline works shows the diversity of this vibrant area of Swedish design.
